In recent years, our people have been worried about external threats, and these authorities have given its opportunity. Strong Armenia party chairman and prime ministerial candidate, businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan stated this during a meeting with several members of the party.

“We all remember how many young people died, how many young people’s futures were destroyed at the expense of the wrong policy they pursued. But we have perhaps a more dangerous and important issue that everyone is silent about. These people are quietly, without blinking an eye, are making our country smaller, humiliating our country. And if we continue like this, in a few years we may have Armenia without Armenians, or with very few Armenians. There is absolutely no policy being pursued for the development of the provinces, emigration is reaching absolute levels.

They [i.e. the incumbent authorities] declare that we have population growth [in Armenia]; today we will present that the picture is completely the opposite. They have reduced the internal politics to zero. Every day they are screaming and yelling about the asphalt. But it seems to me that in a few years you will only need to come to ride a bicycle on that asphalt, because if they are paving the villages or building a school, but no one will live in those villages, you don’t need to be very smart for that. They are misleading our people with this and doing their dirty work. All our border villages are in danger today, one can say that they have de-Armenianized the border villages equivalent to Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]. That is why we consider these issues very important,” Samvel Karapetyan stated.

He noted that divorces in Armenia have reached an absolute level, the birth rate is decreasing, and the country is gradually depopulating due to emigration. “Everything today contributes so that they make our country smaller. I want to once again draw the attention of our society to 300,000 Azerbaijanis. If we do not stop this, they will soon appear in various regions of Armenia, and first of all in the border regions and villages vacated by [Armenian PM Nikol]Pashinyan.

Our demographic data is terrible. The demographic issue will definitely be one of the most targeted issues for us, and we will do everything we can for young families so that they can have many children, educate their children well, create a good future for their children,” the leader of Strong Armenia stated.

Party member Gohar Meloyan brought some indicators: “In our country, births have decreased by about 12 percent, marriages by about 7 percent, divorces have increased by about 28 percent, natural growth has decreased by about 40 percent.

Our force, represented by our leader Mr. Karapetyan, made a serious revolutionary economic proposal: 300,000 jobs, 20,000 affordable apartments, but this is just the beginning. We present our revolutionary proposal, which is aimed at demographic growth in Armenia. We are launching the National Rebirth Fund, which will develop a state policy that will solve the most serious demographic problems [in Armenia]. Our fund will have only 30 percent state participation, and the remaining 70 percent will be organized thanks to the funds of our partners from all over the world.

We also have a specific proposal: every fourth child will receive 2 million drams for the birth, and for the fifth and remaining children, families will receive a free apartment,” Meloyan said.

Summing up, Samvel Karapetyan said: “We saw how worrying the situation in Armenia, the Armenian people, is today, which about 25 percent of our people still do not understand. That is why we will do everything to be able to present to our people the real situation in Armenia during the election period. I doubt that Pashinyan is realizing [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev’s dream today, making room [in Armenia] for Azerbaijanis. We say 300 thousand [Azerbaijanis], but I already suspect even 500 thousand; it will be impossible for us to calculate that number in the future. Aliyev’s concept of ‘Western Azerbaijan’ will be implemented in the next five years; that is why I call on our people to more look carefully at our internal problems, not to be deceived only by the words ‘peace,’ because the word ‘peace’ has nothing to do with Pashinyan. In Armenia, both wars and deaths are brought about only by Pashinyan and his government. Therefore, by getting rid of these authorities as early as possible, we can build a strong Armenia together with you.”
