The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia informed in a statement that administrative resources are the human, financial, and material means that are at the disposal of persons holding public positions and public service positions during elections, which is conditioned by their supervision over personnel, finances, and allocations in the public sector.
The CEC added that it is prohibited to use administrative resources during the organizing and implementation of election campaigns by those in public service, employees of healthcare or medical organizations, educational institutions, preschool educational institutions when exercising their powers, or acting in an official capacity.
“Once again, we call on to conduct the election campaign within the framework of the regulations arising from the Electoral Code constitutional law [of Armenia],” also reads the statement released by the CEC.
As reported earlier, teachers and students from several schools in Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province on Wednesday were brought by buses to the election campaign of the ruling Civil Contract party in Aparan city—moreover, during class hours. One of these teachers had told Armenian News-NEWS.am that classes were shortened for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
