I told the principals of four schools in Aparan community to write letters of resignation, and they wrote. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on vacation and heads the ruling Civil Contract party’s proportional representation list of parliamentary candidates for Armenia parliamentary election on June 7, told this to reporters Thursday.

Pashinyan said that he called to find out which schools’ students and teachers had participated in the ruling party’s election campaign Wednesday in Aparan. “However, during the investigation, they will not be dismissed de jure. Where it is substantiated that something happened—moreover, we will do it in a transparent manner, there will be consequences. If illegal actions are not detected, then these people will continue to work,” the Armenian premier added.

He assured that strict instructions have been given to exclude such cases. “But we cannot prohibit those who have the right to participate in the assembly from participating in it,” Pashinyan added.

He noted that an internal investigation is underway, and where it is found that there was an illegal order, there will definitely be dismissals.

The Armenian PM said that he hates the use of administrative resources.

“Where such a phenomenon exists, it prevents me from being more direct with citizens, and I am unable to sense the emotions of citizens. Cases of using administrative resources to encourage people to participate in assemblies of our or other [political] forces will not remain without consequences. The same applies to situations when they impede people’s rights to participate in assemblies,” Pashinyan concluded.

Earlier, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent had found out that teachers and students from several schools in the Aparan community had participated in the election campaign of the ruling Civil Contract party during class hours.
