Armenia’s leadership will have to choose between the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at some phase—if it decides to make that choice, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told reporters, according to TASS.

"There [in Armenia] they are talking about the desire to get closer to the European Union. We [i.e. Russia] have repeatedly said that [simultaneous] membership in the EAEU and the EU is incompatible. Armenia also understands this very well, the country's leaders also say that these things are incompatible. At some phase they will have to make such a choice if they decide to make that choice," Overchuk said on the sidelines of the “Russia - Islamic World” International Economic Forum in Kazan, Russia.

"We [i.e. Russia] are trying to convey to colleagues the issues that may arise in this context. It is ultimately their choice," he added.
