US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to Armenia has nothing to do with the upcoming parliamentary elections in the country, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

"What does it have to do with the elections?" he said.

When asked what issues are on the agenda of the US Secretary of State's visit to Armenia and what documents will be signed, Mirzoyan replied: "We will sign, publicize [them], you will see. We will inform in due time and properly."

And when asked whether the agenda is related to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, the Armenian FM said he has already said everything.

Also, Mirzoyan assured that there are no secrets. "We will inform in due time and properly," he repeated.

Earlier it was reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will arrive in Armenia on Tuesday.

A meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Marco Rubio will take place, after which they will make statements to the press.

The signing of bilateral documents is planned, too.

Subsequently, Armenian FM Mirzoyan will hold a press conference.
