Armenia will attend the upcoming Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on vacation, announced this in response to a question from Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Yes, it [i.e. Armenia] will participate,” Mirzoyan noted.
The upcoming EAEU summit will be held on Thursday and Friday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had stated that Moscow hopes that Yerevan will attend the upcoming events within the Eurasian Economic Union.
And prior to that, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk had said that Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan’s decision not to personally attend the summit shows how he arranges his priorities. Also, Overchuk had noted that the issue of Armenia’s status in the EAEU will be discussed during the event.
