Harley-Davidson owners have been customizing their bikes for generations, and the aftermarket industry built around that culture is now enormous. From Screamin’ Eagle performance kits to stretched bodywork, there is no shortage of ways to make a Harley feel more personal. The problem is that personalization and resale value rarely move in the same direction. Some modifications can absolutely improve a bike when they are professionally installed. Most, however, recover only a fraction of their original cost once the bike hits the used market.
