The 2026 Corolla Cross is the smallest SUV offered by Toyota in 2026, but despite its small stature (176.1 inches x 70.1 inches), it still offers an impressive amount of legroom in the front, at 42.9 inches. The rear seating is a little cramped, at 32 inches, but you do get a decent maximum cargo capacity of 61.8 cubic feet. There is a good reason why it is Toyota's fastest-growing SUV at the moment in terms of sales.
Starting prices are low at $25,325, and there are two engine options for the whole lineup: a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force inline-four and a 2.0-liter inline-four mated with a hybrid system. The hybrid Corolla Cross engine option musters the most horsepower, at 196; it comes linked with an eAWD rig, and it can achieve 42 combined mpg. Both the hybrid and non-hybrid Corolla Cross models can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
The RAV4 is one of the most successful small SUVs on the planet, and this year, it has gone fully hybrid; there is no gas engine option. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 still has a low starting price of $31,900, and for that, you get a 2.5-liter inline-four hybrid powertrain, which is available mated to a FWD system or AWD system. To get the maximum horsepower output, you have to opt for the AWD RAV4; the FWD RAV4 has a maximum output of 226 horsepower.
This year's RAV4 is still as useful as the name would suggest; you get 41 inches of front legroom, 37.8 inches of rear legroom, a maximum cargo capacity of 69.8 cubic feet, and a standard-fit 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.9-inch infotainment screen. To benefit from the 3,500-pound towing capacity, you will also need to opt for the AWD model; the FWD model can only tow up to 1,750 pounds.
2025 was the first model year of the Crown Signia SUV, and this year's iteration looks to be just as impressive. The 2026 Crown Signia SUV has an MSRP of $44,390 and comes equipped with a single powertrain option: a 2.5-liter inline-four mated to a three-motor hybrid rig. Output is reasonable at 240 horses, while 0–60 mph times have been clocked at 7 seconds, which isn't too bad considering its price point and segment.
The Crown Signia is classed as a mid-sized hybrid SUV, and can carry up to 68.8 cubic feet of stuff with the rear seats folded down. Towing capacity is also decent at 2,700 pounds, but the standout figure is its combined mpg rating. FuelEconomy.gov says that it can achieve 38 combined mpg (39 mpg city/37 mpg highway), costing you just $1,600 a year for gas.
The 2026 Highlander mid-sized SUV has a starting price of $45,270 and is available with two powertrains: a 2.5-liter inline-four hybrid and a 2.4-liter turbo-four. To get the most horsepower, you will need to go for the turbo-four, which pushes out 265 combined (engine and motor) horsepower. The turbo-four also winds out a decent amount of torque, at 310 pound-feet, which accommodates the 5,000-pound towing capacity when equipped with a Class III hitch.
This year's Toyota Highlander comes standard with three rows of seating, but depending on what grade you choose will depend if you get seven or eight seats. The XLE gets eight seats as standard; the Limited gets seven seats, with two captain's chairs in the middle row, but you can opt for a bench seat to increase to eight, while the XSE and Platinum grades both come exclusively with second-row captain's chairs.
As the plug-in version of the RAV4 lineup this year, the 2026 RAV4 PHEV is both more expensive and more powerful than its non-plug-in counterpart, but it prioritizes on-road, everyday use over towing. Starting prices for the base trim are $41,500, and the maximum towing capacity is a thousand pounds less than the other lineup, but the maximum horsepower is much higher, and you can get to 60 mph in between 5 and 5.8 seconds.
The main thing to love about the PHEV RAV4 is its fuel consumption. Toyota says that it can achieve up to 102 MPGe and has an all-electric range of between 48 and 52 miles, which makes it one of the new PHEVs with the highest all-electric range in the U.S. On top of that, you also get 63.5 cubic feet of storage space with the back seats folded away, 41 inches of front legroom, and 37.8 inches of rear legroom.
Overbuilt, boxy, and sturdy, the 2026 4Runner continues its namesake's ever-steady work ethic with a lot of off-road prowess and toughness. The 4Runner is available with either a 2.4-liter i-FORCE turbo-four good for 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, or a 2.4-liter i-FORCE MAX hybrid inline-four good for 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque at 1,700 rpm. The i-FORCE MAX option is the option to choose if you want low-down grunt and the highest towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.
It comes equipped with full-time four-wheel drive as standard and a maximum cargo capacity of 82.6 cubic feet. You also get an electronically controlled locking diff, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and a 2,400-watt AC power supply, so despite its modern cabin and relatively decent 23 combined mpg rating, the new 4Runner can still make for a trusted off-roading and overlanding companion. Prices for this year's 4Runner start at $42,070 for the base trim and top out at $61,500 for the Limited i-FORCE MAX.
Solely available with the same specced i-FORCE MAX powertrain as the 4Runner, the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser is still a tough and off-road worthy SUV in a sea of modern car-based crossovers. Built on a traditional body-on-frame chassis and equipped with a torquey engine, the new Land Cruiser is made for the rough life. You can tow the same amount with it as you can the 4Runner, and it is very well-equipped from the off for the boonies.
It is not the same as the legendary bulletproof Land Cruiser models of yesteryear, but Toyota has added features like front stabilizer bar disconnect, locking center and rear diffs, Downhill Assist Control, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select to ensure that this new, comfier, and easier-to-live-with Land Cruiser can still hit the trails. Starting prices are relatively high compared to most Toyota SUVs, at $57,600, but you do get the iconic badge, a maximum ground clearance of 8.7 inches, off-road-tuned suspension, and 82.1 cubic feet of storage space to complement the more-than-enough tow rating.
With a starting price of $37,000, the 2026 Toyota C-HR is a relatively affordable all-electric SUV made for easy suburb and city driving. The first thing to know is that Toyota does not give it a towing rating, so it is not recommended that you try and haul across the country with it. What makes up for this is the 338-horsepower dual-motor (AWD) that can get you to 60 from a standstill in between 4.9 and 5.2 seconds.
Toyota says that the 2026 C-HR electric SUV is good for 112 MPGe combined, while a fully-charged battery range of up to 287 miles makes it a good commuter vehicle. You also get a 14-inch high-def touchscreen, approximately 14.7 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats in place, and an adjustable rear floor to make it easier to stow awkward items. There are two trims this year: the base-trim SE and the XSE, with high-end prices of $39,000 before adding any options.
The 2026 Toyota bZ is another Toyota SUV that is not recommended for towing. Like the C-HR, there are just two trims for the new Toyota bZ: the XLE and the Limited, with top-tier prices of $43,400. There are two motor options: a single-motor option good for between 168 and 221 horsepower, and a dual-motor option. The maximum horsepower output is also 338, courtesy of a dual-motor setup (AWD), while range is impressive from both models.
Toyota says that the FWD base trim has a range of 314 miles; the AWD base trim has a range of 288 miles, while the FWD Limited trim has a driving range of 299 miles, and the AWD Limited has a driving range of 278 miles. Maximum cargo capacity with the seats folded down is 56.9 cubic feet; a 14-inch screen is standard fare across the lineup, and 0–60 mph times are quick at 4.9 seconds.
As the larger sibling of the Highlander, the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander measures in at a substantial 201.4 inches in length by 78.3 inches in width. Starting prices are still relatively affordable, at $41,860, while seating for up to eight people is available. There are three powertrain options for this year's Grand Highlander: a 265-horsepower turbo-four, a 2.5-liter inline-four mated to a hybrid system, and a 362-horsepower turbocharged i-FORCE MAX inline-four hybrid. It is the Grand Highlander Hybrid that you need to opt for the most horsepower and the best tow rating.
All-wheel drive comes as standard, creature comforts in the shape of a JBL audio rig, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, and a 1,500-watt auxiliary AC power unit are all included, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard fare. To benefit from the most horsepower, 26 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, you should choose from the i-FORCE MAX Grand Highlander models, which include the Hybrid MAX Limited ($55,690) and the Hybrid MAX Platinum ($59,775).
