The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has cemented its status as a premier American sports car. The decision to adopt a mid-engined layout means that it's able to achieve hypercar-level performance, while somewhat maintaining the practicality of a daily driver. The heart of the ZR1 is Chevy's flat-plane crank twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 V-8. This configuration is able to produce 1,064 horsepower and 828 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The brand claims a 0 to 60 MPH sprint time of 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 233 MPH.
