The removal of the Russian base from Armenia will be followed by the invasion of Turkish troops. Andranik Tevanyan, who is No. 2 on the Prosperous Armenia Party’s electoral list for the parliamentary election on June 7, announced this in a press conference Thursday.

He noted that nothing prevented Turkey from entering Iraq, Cyprus, and Syria. Tevanyan added that today there is only one factor that prevents Turkey from repeating that scenario in Armenia.

Tevanyan said that it is about the factor of Russia and Iran, and it is thanks to their position that Armenia still exists as a state.

"Many people think that Armenia, recognized by the UN, will remain on the map. However, as a result of the policy pursued by the [incumbent] authorities, Armenia may repeat the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh," Tevanyan noted.

He added that the Turkish foreign minister has openly declared his support for Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, and the French President, in his assessment, has carried out shameful interference in Armenia’s internal affairs, which is prohibited by the country’s legislation.

“The implementation of the plan of some Western circles means that Turkey’s influence in Armenia will grow,” Tevanyan said.
