After a sharp rise last week, oil prices continued to rise on Monday morning as traders fear a renewed Middle East conflict.
Brent oil futures for July delivery rose $1.80 (1.65%) to $111.06 a barrel on the ICE Futures stock exchange in London. The price had risen $3.54 (3.35%) to $109.26 a barrel on Friday.
The June WTI oil futures rose $2.11 (2%) to $107.53 a barrel in online trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). The price had risen by $4.25 (4.2%) to $105.42 per barrel in the previous trading session on Friday.
Over the past week, Brent prices have risen by 7.8% and WTI by 10.5%, driven by uncertainties surrounding peace talks between the US and Iran.
