The Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: On the one hand, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan's government has begun a process of taking over the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] representation building [in Yerevan] and in effect neutralizing the activities of Artsakh state institutions, however, within Artsakh circles, according to the Zhoghovurd daily’s information, the opposite process is maturing: the matter of restoring the full functioning of Artsakh institutions, including the presidential institution, is being discussed.
According to the Zhoghovurd daily’s information, months ago, a number of Artsakh non-governmental organizations had jointly appealed to the president of the Artsakh NA [(National Assembly)] Ashot Danielyan and the parliamentary factions, raising a number of principled matters.
They concerned the complete and full functioning of Artsakh state institutions, clarifications regarding the financial abuses periodically circulating in Artsakh, as well as other urgent issues. According to our sources, extensive discussions have been underway on these matters for a long time.
Against the backdrop of Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statements and the situation surrounding the Artsakh representation, the matter of restoring the full functioning of the Artsakh presidential institution has become particularly active. According to our information, possible options and names are also being discussed in Artsakh political and public circles.
The name of [Artsakh] state minister Nzhdeh Iskandaryan, as well as the names of several MPs of the Artsakh parliament, is being circulated. Thus, while the RA authorities are taking steps to limit the building and institutional presence of the Artsakh representation [in Yerevan], the people of Artsakh are discussing the opposite agenda: how to restore and ensure the functioning of Artsakh state institutions in a practical mode.
