The number of cases of approval of Schengen visa applications, including multiple-entry visas, by Armenian citizens at the embassies of European Union (EU) countries has increased. Minister of Internal Affairs Armenia Arpine Sargsyan stated this during the presentation of the report on the implementation of the visa liberalization action plan with the EU on Wednesday.

Sargsyan said the reports to the contrary were disinformation. “At the same time, there are complaints about [long] queues, and the embassies are working to expand their capabilities to resolve this issue,” she added.

The interior minister informed that in 2019, a total of 51,000 Schengen visas were issued to Armenian nationals (34.8% of this number were multiple-entry visas), while in 2024—86,300 (43.5% of this number were multiple-entry visas).

According to her, the Schengen visa refusal rate in 2019 was 13.2%, whereas in 2024 it was 12.4%.
