Yemen’s warring sides agreed on Thursday to release more than 1,700 prisoners, Yahya Kuzman, head of the government delegation at the prisoner exchange talks, said.

“About 1,728 people from both sides will be released, which will be an important humanitarian step... aimed at ending the suffering of the detainees and their families,” Kuzman wrote on X.

He added that those to be released by the Houthis would include Yemeni army soldiers, politicians, and journalists.

According to Al Arabiya, the deal was signed in Amman, the capital of Jordan.
