No one wants Armenia to leave the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Yerevan also declares the absence of such an intention, noted Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.
“The situation is kind of very strange, not trivial, because no one wants Armenia to leave the EAEU, and the leaders of Armenia also declare that they do not want to leave the EAEU,” Overchuk told Vesti newscast.
He drew attention to the fact that Russia is in favor of Armenia remaining in the EAEU and “blooming and continuing to develop at the same pace as it has been doing all these years, while it was still in the EAEU.”
On May 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Armenia should decide as soon as possible whether to join the European Union or stay in the EAEU, then the path of an "intelligent separation" would be possible.
