The US authorities have rejected Iran's 14-point plan for a possible settlement of the conflict, the Iranian Mehr News Agency reports.

"The US government has responded to Iran's written proposal for a cessation of the war. By rejecting Tehran's proposals, the United States has reaffirmed its blackmailing stance," the article noted.

According to Mehr News Agency, Iran's proposal was based on a two-phase structure of the negotiation process. The first phase involves the end of hostilities. And the second phase, if Tehran's conditions are met, involves the start of talks on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Fars news agency had reported Tuesday that Iran has posited five demands to the US that are necessary for resuming the talks for the conflict resolution. It was noted that these demands are: a cessation of the war on all fronts, especially in Lebanon; lifting of sanctions on Iran; unblocking of Iranian assets; compensation to Iran for the damage caused by the war; and recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

Also in those days, US President Donald Trump had stated that he wanted to make a good deal with Iran and was waiting for further developments in the situation.
