Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel warned that a US military assault on Cuba “will cause a bloodbath with incalculable consequences.”

“Cuba poses no threat, nor does it have aggressive plans or intentions against any country. It has none against the US, nor has it ever had any, something the government of that nation knows well,” the Cuban leader said in a post on X.

Earlier, Politico, citing its sources, reported that the US presidential administration is considering the possibility of implementing scenarios for a military invasion of Cuba. This happened after attempts to extract concessions from Havana through strict economic sanctions and a fuel embargo failed.

According to Politico, several scenarios of action are being discussed in Washington. In particular, the possibility of carrying out limited air strikes on Cuba to force concessions from Havana, as well as a ground invasion to overthrow the current Cuban government, is being considered.
